New Barcelona signing Jeison Murillo: "God has opened the biggest door in football for me"
The Colombian central defender was officially presented and handed the number 17 shirt. He says he's ready for the challenge and see his dream become a reality.
Jeison Murillo was officially presented by Barça today and handed the number 17 shirt. The central defender joins on a six-month loan from Valencia withan option to join the Blaugranas outright for 25 million euros. Murillo, an international with Colombia says he's up for the challenges that lie ahead and ready to see his dream become a reality.
First feelings: “I'd like to thank the club for giving the opportunity to come here. I feel like God has opened the biggest door there is in football. My family is very happy and that's the most important thing. I'm going to give everything so that the coach will be able to count on me soon”.
Contribution: “I'm so happy to be able to wear this shirt. I've always wanted to play attractive football. I am an honourable person and I hope I can contribute to the team and help to reach the club's objectives”.
The future: “It was always my dream to pull on this shirt. It's becoming a reality, but it will all depend on what happens out on the pitch - that's where I will have to prove myself. We know what Barça means and I hope that I have enough time to show what I am capable of”.
Physical form: “I worked hard at Valencia so I feel strong enough to be able to train with the best”.

Messi: “Maybe the word 'relief' is how I feel to be on the same side as him and not against him - he's the best in the world”.
